What is the TMAE?

The Trademark Administrators’ Exchange (TMAE) is a free online community for trademark and other IP administrators, paralegals, legal assistants, docketers, and more to share resources and learn from one another.

With hundreds of members, the TMAE is a great way to share and discover job postings, discuss power of attorney requirements around the world, weigh the pros and cons of different trademark monitoring software, pick up tips for organizing your time and managing up, use salary data from your peers to empower your contract negotiations, and more. Our group is divided almost equally between those serving in-house and those working at law firms (of all sizes). This means you’ll find plenty of peers who know exactly where you’re coming from and how to help. Whether you need resources, have a pressing question, want to guide your peers, or are just looking for a community of fellow TMAs, this is the place for you!

Aside from providing a community for you to share resources and knowledge and ask questions, we also host the TALK—Trademark Administrators Lending Knowledge—series. One recent TALK focused on in-house division of labor, including what to manage in-house and what to send to outside counsel. This format is perfect for topics that require more back-and-forth discussion than asynchronous exchanges via email.
